We invite you to enjoy our 4 fully-marked mountain biking trails which traverse the Elgin Valley farms, as well as the Lebanon Forest Reserve.
The trails have something to offer for all types of mountain bikers from beginners to the more serious. Take it easy on a family trail through scenic valley farms, or take-off into the Lebanon Forest Reserve and carve your way down forested pine slopes on 4 kilometers of challenging single-track. These trails offer a unique riding experience that combines rolling orchard farmland, forested pine slopes and mountainous fynbos with breathtaking views of the Elgin Valley and Overberg surrounds. All trails are clearly marked from Oak Lane where permits and maps are available.
Day visitors are welcome, permits are R20/person/day and operate on a self-registration/honesty system. Printable/downloadable maps are available below.*PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU REGISTER AT OAKLANE AND PAY FOR YOUR PERMIT PRIOR TO RIDING, RIDERS THAT DO NOT CARRY THEIR PERMITS WITH THEM COULD BE FINED.
Our 4 trails are:- 1. Yellow trail 7.3 km - technical difficulty/easy 2. Green trail 10.1 km -technical difficulty/easy to moderate 3. Blue trail 17.1 km - technical difficulty/moderate to difficult 4. Red trail 23.6 km - technical difficulty/moderate to difficult.
Accommodation in the form of 7 quaint self-catering cottages and 3 overnighters are available at the trail head, making it an ideal base for mountain bikers. Camping is allowed only for Mountainbikers at a rate of R50pp per day. We do have outside showers and toilets that can be used.
